History

Chicago Magic Roundtable

In April, 2001, Dan Mindo founded the Chicago Magic Roundtable (CMR) in an effort to foster a casual magic discussion group for Chicago area magicians. The meetings followed in the spirit of the original Chicago Magic Roundtable, the old New York Magic Roundtable, and the Algonquin Roundtable (though we were much nicer than the Algonquin folks were, and definitely less obsessed with puns). Every meeting included dinner and an after-dinner presentation.

The CMR meetings were hosted by Dan Mindo, David Parr, and Tracy Atteberry. The meetings were attended largely by interested magicians in the Chicago area and frequently by visiting magicians as well. After-dinner presenters included Eugene Burger, Jay Marshall, David Parr, and many more.

The final meeting of the roundtable was in April, 2010. After nine great years it was time to move on. We would like to thank everyone who participated in making the Chicago Magic Roundtable a wonderful experience. We look forward to having you join us now as we get to work in the workshop!

Chicago Magic Workshop

The Chicago Magic Workshop (CMW) was formed in May, 2010, to provide a place for magicians to regularly meet and work toward the creation and development of quality magic. See the About Us tab for more details on the structure of our meetings.
